Air Fried Tortilla Chips With Flour Tortillas
Homemade tortilla chips will change the way you think about chips and salsa. Tortilla chips made in an air fryer are quick, easy and tasty . . . as expected for any air fryer recipe.
This recipe is for flour tortilla chips. I’ll be posting a separate recipe for corn tortilla chips. I really love using flour tortillas because you get a super crisp exterior with a slightly tender interior.
We are air frying these high at 400ºF so you need to keep a close eye, especially towards the end. If you want to lower the temp and cook a bit longer that works too and it’s a little more forgiving.
As far as the tortillas, get the best you can find. Trader Joe’s has handmade tortillas that I love and highly recommend for this recipe. Keep in mind that smaller tortillas are easier to cut if you want the perfect triangles.
Ingredients Needed For Air Fried Tortilla Chips
- Small Flour Tortillas
- Avocado Oil
How To Cook Tortilla Chips In Nuwave Air Fryer
- Cut tortillas into triangle shaped pieces.
- Toss tortillas with oil then transfer to air fryer basket sprayed with nonstick. Arrange into an even layer. It is okay if some are overlapping.
- Air fry at 400ºF for 3 minutes, toss then air fry for 3 more minutes. Check crispness and air fry for 2-3 more minutes if necessary.
- Salt chips and serve.
