Ingredients
- 4 burger buns
- 4 slices of cheese
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 is ideal for juiciness)
- Salt and pepper (or your favorite burger seasoning)
- OPTIONAL:
- 2 tbsp oil for frying
- 1 onion cut into strips
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Divide ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about ½ inch thick. Make a small indent in the center of each patty to prevent puffing. Season both sides with salt, pepper, or your favorite seasoning blend.
- Place patties in the air fryer basket in a single layer — don’t overcrowd. Cook at 375°F for 8–10 minutes, flipping halfway through. Cook until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for well-done.
- Cover each burger with a slice of cheese and fry in air for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Place burgers on buns and assemble with disired toppings/condiments.
OPTIONAL (caramelized onions):
Melt the butter in a frying pan and fry the onion over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring. Then add brown sugar and continue to fry, stirring until the sugar melts and the onions turn brown.
