How Do You Fry Tater Tots In An Air Fryer
Air Fryer Tater Tots are soft and fluffy on the inside while crisp golden brown on the outside. Adding the chili cheese on top makes these the ultimate indulgent snack or game day grub.
The difference between these tots and regular air fryer tots is using the foil underneath. We do that to keep the chili and cheese from dropping to the bottom of the air fryer. Typically for Frozen Tater Tots In An Air Fryer we would just toss them in the basket.
As far as the chili, feel free to use your favorite canned chili or leftover homemade chili. I like to freeze a small portion of chili every time I make a batch so that I have it on hand for recipes like this.
I have used shredded cheese and the gooey nacho cheese. Both will work so it is up to you and which you prefer.

- Frozen Tater Tots
- Chili
- Shredded Cheese or Nacho Cheese
- Tin Foil
How To Cook Chili Cheese Tater Tots In An Air Fryer
- Form a tin foil “plate” with a slight rim around the edges. Spray with nonstick and place inside air fryer basket.
- Place frozen tater tots onto foil in an even layer. Air Fry at 375ºF for 12-15 minutes or until browned and crisp. Toss once during cook time.
- Top with chili and cheese. If chili is cold, microwave for 30 seconds before adding to tots. Air fry at 375ºF for 2-3 more minutes or until chili and cheese are hot and melty.
